The Sigma and the Epsilon Metzik are the latest creations of the brand, both coming out after much testing and research on design and materials.

The Metzik is the successor to the vegan Epsilon sneaker (discover our entire collection of vegan shoes), in a recycled version. With the same timeless lines as its big sisters, this Epsilon is still vegan but otherwise ethical. Subtle's new sneaker pushes its commitment to eco-responsibility, sustainability and its positioning in slow fashion further with a choice of recycled materials.

Vegan sneaker with natural and recycled fibres

Without leather and animal materials, the Epsilon Metzik remains vegan, from the sole to the upper and the laces. The Metzik is the brand's first vegan shoe with a fabric made of recycled materials. It is composed of 70% of cotton and 30% of viscose (derived from wood cellulose, a natural fiber). This weave is made of recycled materials from textile waste or used clothing. These used fabrics are recovered and then treated and washed to make the most of their properties and give them a second life. This commitment and the use of recycled fabric allows us to minimize the environmental impact of the sneakers created through the reuse of these fabrics.

Recycled but stylish sneakers

Always timeless, therefore worthy of slow fashion, the Epsilon Metzik sneakers are made of recycled materials. The upper is made of fabric, a mix of cotton and viscose from recycled textiles, and the back yoke gives the little extra touch. The back yoke is black, white, beige and gold. The gold filaments give a bright and slightly shiny look to your vegan sneaker. The Epsilon Metzik finds a delicate balance between classic and original sneakers. They are easy to wear while remaining just the right amount of original.

Our sneaker brand, like other shoe brands, wants to go further in terms of ecology. Too many fashion brands offer sneakers with components that are not very well thought out and not very responsible. Far from fast fashion, our ethical fashion brand offers shoes made in Portugal, made to last. With their timeless look, their responsible materials and their ethical manufacturing, we want to offer you a more responsible consumption, in accordance with your values.

An ethical women's sneaker that is increasingly sustainable

In response to your feedback and following our commitment to eco-responsibility, Subtle wanted to create a vegan, ethical and eco-responsible sneaker, with natural or recycled materials. This is now doubly true. The upper of the Epsilon Metzik sneaker is made of recycled cotton and viscose (derived from wood cellulose). These two components are however well recycled and from a recovery of used textiles. This choice is thus sustainable since it responds as much as possible to a zero waste, vegan and ethical logic. In terms of comfort, the textile of the Epsilon Metzik is breathable by definition. Subtle has integrated two ventilation rings to optimise the breathability of your trainers, to wick away moisture. In addition, this textile is both flexible for comfort and durable to last over time. The sole is glued and then sewn to the upper for added strength and durability. The rubber outsole is a perfect balance between flexibility and durability, to remain both durable and comfortable to wear on a daily basis. The durability of this sneaker is also due to its manufacture, as it is made with know-how and passion in a carefully selected Portuguese workshop.

Consumption that is always eco-responsible and sustainable

In addition to our monosourcing, we want to include you in our approach to offset this carbon footprint. Thus, in partnership with Tree-Nation, we plant a tree in your name for each pair of shoes purchased. It is a Cordia Africana, planted in the Usambara reserve in Tanzania, to participate in its reforestation by respecting its ecosystem. This species promises to offset 100kg of CO2 emissions throughout its life.
